ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP
The Cookers Experienced Chef Scholarship is designed to support experienced chefs (26+ years) who are looking to advance their careers by stepping into leadership roles, enhancing their professional skills, or exploring new career pathways. This scholarship focuses on professional development, including leadership training, mentoring, and education, helping chefs to transition into roles that allow them to share their expertise with the next generation.
Upskill
Upskill experienced chefs who are ready to transition into leadership positions, training roles, or new career opportunities.
Aid
Provide financial assistance to help chefs gain qualifications such as the TAE – Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, attend leadership training programs, or participate in specialised workshops.
Support
Support the foodservice industry by equipping chefs with the skills to train the next generation of culinary professionals or grow their business acumen.
Strengthen
Strengthen the industry by retaining top talent and creating clear pathways for career longevity and growth.
SCHOLARSHIP VALUE
The $5,000 (+GST) scholarship can be used for:
- TAE (Certificate IV in Training and Assessment) – enabling chefs to become trainers and mentors in the culinary field.
- Leadership training programs – short courses, management training, or business development courses to expand professional skill sets.
- Specialised education or upskilling – workshops, advanced cookery, or industry innovation programs.
- Travel and networking opportunities – attending key industry events, food study tours, or networking sessions to connect with peers and industry leaders.
- Industry mentoring or business coaching – receiving guidance to transition into new roles, start a business, or expand an existing operation.
ELIGABILITY
CRITERIA
Must be 26 years or older and have a minimum of five years of professional experience in a commercial kitchen.
Commitment to career development, leadership, or mentorship in the foodservice industry.
Clear plan for how the scholarship funds will be used to further professional growth.
Open to chefs working in all foodservice sectors, including restaurants, catering, hotels, institutional kitchens, and more.
Preference given to chefs who plan to use their skills to mentor, train, or contribute to the broader foodservice community.

- Applications are submitted online via the Australian Culinary Federation website.
- Applicants will be required to upload supporting documents and provide detailed responses.
